Emotional Hurt and Addictions have certain things in common. Firstly they both can be particularly tricky stop once they have happened and Secondly withdrawal is categorically similar to emotional loss. A Clean Therapy ™ method can be used to deal with both types of problem.

Addictions may be classed as physical, habitual, chemical or a combination of all three. What these all have in common is there is some payback ( a reward ) from a specific activity which results in neurotransmitters being released or blocked. These chemicals may be externally obtained like drugs and alcohol or supplied endogenously. The important distinction is there is a process which an addict will typically go through, typically:

Stimulus, Desire, Activity, Reward

It is the physical and psychological addiction withdrawal that really is the problem. Once the drug is lost to the system there is often a withdrawal counter effect in the body.

Now consider emotional pain. Specifically forms of loss related emotional pain. Here emotional pain is experienced through loosing something or someone precious, having values transgressed or expectations shattered. In essence something that was once present in life is now gone either permanently or temporarily.

When addictive stop there is often an associated withdrawal stage. This withdrawal is very similar to the experience of loss.

Using my Clean Therapy ™ model, a physicalisation and reintegration process in this case. Therapists can deal effectively with the withdrawal element in many cases. And follow up with Clean Generative Change to future orientate clients.

Thought Provoking Dialogue – June 24th – Newcastle Hypnosis & Study Group

Two important developments in Newcastle Hypnosis Study and Practice Group for this coming June.

First the topic and second the June date.

The topic for explorations and practice is Thought Provoking Dialogue. Thought Provoking Dialogue is the creation of Phil Jeremiah who recently ran an excellent two day Thought Provoking Dialogue workshop in Newcastle, sponsored by Nigel Hetherington. Thought Provoking Dialogue according to research is incredibly effective, fun, caring and totally client focused.

Phil studied extensively with Frank Farrelly the creator of provocative therapy and Phil has updated this approach for the 21st Century. Thought Provoking Dialogue is the latest cutting edge development in the use of humour in coaching, therapy, mentoring and helping people make positive changes in their lives.

The practice evening will include demonstrations and plenty of practice time, focusing on specific Thought Provoking Dialogue patterns

We normally meet on the first Wednesday of the month. This June, The Trance Cafe will be on the 24th June which is the last Thursday of the month. This is because I am running a Hypnotherapy Diploma training in Alaska at the start of the June.

Resolving Guilt Hypnotherapy

hypnotherapy practice No Comments »

Guilt can be one of the most disabling and crippling emotions a human being can feel.

The feeling of Guilt is related to a persons actions or inactions and is primarily about values and how they are transgressed. Guilt is about your own values and can be public or private knowledge.

It is interesting that most people who are experiencing guilt are acknowledging certain values yet the question here is who’s values have been transgressed? Are they honestly your own values or are they ones you have accumulated from society, your parents or what you think you should do?

When a person experiences Guilt, there is a very strong likely hood that an even higher level value, often unconscious, has been honoured and the feeling of Guilt comes from more conscious values. Guilt can honestly serve as a sign post, a marker of how to respond differently in the future when there are similar circumstances as to the experience that created the feeling of Guilt.

There is a story from the current Dalia Lama about when he once told an old monk that was desiring to embark on some higher level esoteric practice and he remarked casually that it would be difficult and perhaps would be better undertaken by someone younger perhaps in the mid teens. What transpired was that old monk committed suicide to start again in another life. Can you imagine the ‘Guilt’ that came from this casual comment ‘resulting’ in a suicide? How do you go about transforming such a feeling and moving onwards with a real life?

This Trance Cafe is a methodology for transforming Guilt into a learning and way of being in the future.

Trance Cafe – Newcastle Hypnosis Practice Group
Wednesday 3rd March

All people at some time in life experience negative states or negative emotions. Usually these will dissolve and dissipate on their own and with this comes the return of a better life.

But sometimes negative feelings persist and stay. These can be feelings like anger, fear, anxiety or confusion to name but a few. Being in a negative emotional state is draining, tiring and over time not at all good for health and wellbeing.

This months Trance Cafe will work with the ‘Drop Down & Through’ process (Overdurf and Silverthorn) which moves you through a series of emotional states until something deep and profound shifts.

Drop The Emotional Baggage – 7th October

Baggage DeptImage by Noël Zia Lee via Flickr

October at the Trance Cafe – Newcastle and North East Hypnosis Practice and Supervision Group is Drop The Emotional Baggage – Wednesday October 7th.

This October, The Trance Cafe session facilitated by guest presenter Alan Scott is Drop The Emotional Baggage.

Metaphorically we carry baggage around all the time in the shape of Experiences, Memories and in particularly emotions.

So as the summer holiday period comes to an end, we have all had some experience of checking in baggage at airports or loading the car up with our worldly possessions to go on holiday. Have we packed too much?

It’s surprising isn’t it how much baggage we carry around with as opposed to what we actually need. How good would it be if you could sort out our emotional baggage as we often do with Airport luggage? Reducing it to that which is useful and relevant, taking out and storing unnecessary items.

how much easier would it be to continue our journey and adventure through life not being weighed down by that unhelpful baggage?

This Trance Cafe practice group meeting will facilitate an exploration into identifying the things we need and that are helpful as well as cutting any unwanted emotional ties.

Entry Level : Open To All
